Happy st. patricks day! #cheers!

I love to see how everyone is looking for a Green Beer right now! But, is it really an Irish tradition?

Is the St. Patricks day week and we all are looking for an excuse to drink and get drunk. This is actually the perfect date, the weather is good and the hype is notorious.

The tradition is pretty old, and we all know a story about the Irish students who were fighting against the university authorities because they were trying to boycott the student Irish celebrations. It was a really brave strategy against all the tyranny and the green beer stayed as tradition forever (Actually some other people says that the tradition was born in NY).

I think we should ask ourselves if the green beer is actually something good. As we know the people who makes green beer, just add coloring to the beer and sometimes flavoring too. I think this situation is actually a marketing strategy made by some breweries who need to improve their sales, because being really honest, a green beer is something that calls our attention. Also, putting coloring and flavoring changes the entire essence of the beer disguising off flavors. It could be something like putting a lime in your corona.

I think the green beer it´s an American strategy to can sell beers that are about to be trash, they can fix them just making it green. Boom, surprise! Now it is not trash anymore, instead, is a great marketing strategy.
Also, I have the opportunity to ask to my Irish friend Sophie if she drink green beer, the answer was a complete NO!

We´ll probably don´t know the real intentions of the big breweries, but we can enjoy the celebration with these green beers of some other classic Irish beers. Anyway, is just once a year.
